Studying Applied Technology will teach students to convey and present ideas and plans to the world. Students will learn to sketch design ideas, build presentation models and drawings that work within today’s industry standards. As technology becomes more advanced, students need to adapt to changes. Skills learned throughout these courses are intended to foster career and college ready students, as well as prepare them to be lifelong learners and educated consumers. Students engage in critical thinking, problem solving, and activate creativity. Furthermore, by taking an applied technology course or sequence of courses, students will actively solve meaningful problems and learn to work within design requirements. Students learn aspects of technology that are used frequently in the modern world to communicate ideas, designs, and products. Students learn how to put technology to work for them. Students exit these courses with a better understanding and appreciation of the monumental impact that technology has on society and everyday living.
