Athletic Hall of Fame

The Mainland Regional High School Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1993.

  The primary purpose of The Hall of Fame is to recognize and select Mainland Regional graduates, who excelled in athletics while at Mainland.  Athletic excellence beyond high school in college or at the professional level is also given consideration.  Other persons such as contributors and former coaches are also considered for induction.

A constitution and by-laws were adopted in 1993 as guidelines in the selection process. 

To be considered for nomination to The Hall of Fame, the following procedures shall be considered:

Section 1. The association will solicit nominees.  Names and addresses of each candidate must be provided to the Association in writing. 

Section 2. The nominee will be asked to complete a questionnaire for supportive material on his/her behalf.  A questionnaire must be submitted by the nominee to deem them eligible, and shall include past performances, to deem them eligible for consideration.

 Section 3. Individuals become eligible for nomination five years after graduation from Mainland.

 Section 4. To be eligible as a coach, the nominee must have coached at the varsity level at Mainland for a minimum of five years.  Coaches may only be selected after their retirement from coaching.

 Section 5. Other persons who have made outstanding contributions or offered extraordinary service to athletics at Mainland are eligible.  These individuals shall be judged based upon the discretion of the Association.

NOTE: Indicate your reasons for nomination.  Please feel free to attach another page if necessary.  Also, enclose copies of any other materials with your nomination such as newspaper clippings, etc. that you feel are appropriate.  The committee will contact the nominee for additional information.
