After Prom

The After Prom is the annual alcohol- and drug-free celebration following the Prom, to be held this year on Saturday, June 5. Our committee of dedicated volunteers works year-round to plan and produce this party for our students. Nearly 500 students attend each year to play games, watch live shows and win more than $10,000 in cash and prizes. All juniors and seniors may attend even if they don't go to the Prom.

We rely solely on donations - your financial support and prize donations. We also need volunteers to help decorate and to work the night of the After Prom. Ask anyone who's done it - it's a blast. If you'd like to join us, contact Ann Jungels at 641-5771 or afish10@comcast.net . Planning meetings, at Ann's house, are the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7p.

Decorating sessions, in the woodshop at 7pm, are every Thursday from January through March, then every Tuesday and Thursday from April through May. Contact Maureen Sullivan for more info at 646-6932 or msulli823@aol.com.

Overview

The Mainland Parents Organization is dedicated to the educational enrichment of the students at Mainland Regional High School. To this end, we offer a number of programs throughout the year for parents and work to provide educational enhancements for our students and staff.

The Outstanding Hoof Prints plaques, which hang in the front entrance, are a joint project between the school and the Parents Organization. Through recommendations from their faculty advisors or coach, any student receiving state level or higher recognition will have a plaque engraved in their honor and hung on the wall.

The Grant and Scholarship Committee meets yearly to discuss the distribution of funds raised during the year. We try to balance the disbursement of grant requests across various departments and positively affect as many students as possible, along with awarding a deserving graduate with a monetary scholarship at the end of the year.

Each month, our principal, Dr. Blake attends our monthly meetings and updates us on school events and policies. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and share concerns or ideas about life at Mainland. We look forward to listening to your ideas and seeing you at our meetings!!
