Welcome to
'Stang Basketball
Mainland Regional High School, located eight miles southwest of Atlantic City, serves the municipalities of Linwood, Northfield, and Somers Point -- total population 25,000. The community is primarily residential and was featured in New Jersey Monthly Magazine as one of the “top 25 communities to call home.”


Mainland is an academically oriented four-year public school with an enrollment of approximately 1600 students. Mainland’s students are served by 160 faculty members and 50 support personnel. The school is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the New Jersey Department of Education.


In 1997-98 Mainland was selected as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the United States Department of Education. Washington Post writer Jay Matthews ranked our school sixth in New Jersey and 111th in the nation in his book, “Class Struggles: What’s Wrong (and Right) with America’s Best Public High Schools,” based on our efforts at exposing students to challenging course work. In New Jersey Magazine’s September 2002 issue, Mainland was ranked fifth among high schools in Southern New Jersey.

Athletic Affiliation
Mainland is a member of the Cape Atlantic League. Currently the Cape-Atlantic League comprises 21 schools from Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and Gloucester counties. It has developed into one of the most successful leagues in the State of New Jersey.

Team History
The Mainland "Lady Stangs" have a history of excellence dating back to their beginnings. Success is seen in many ways. The "Lady Stangs" have qualified for the state playoffs 23 straight years in a row which is a CAL record. During that time, Mainland has played for 5 South Jersey Group III titles winning 3. Mainland has also won numerous Cape Atlantic conference titles during this time.

Mainland is the host of the Future Stars "SHOOTOUT AT THE SHORE." . Twenty-four teams will play at Mainland Regional over three days in February. Click on the link for the Shootout to gain more information
